SUSTAIN Substrate Wins Silver Award from FSEA

Fresnels Innovations' eye-catching recyclable print film shone at the Foil and Specialty Effects Association (FSEA)'s 2021 Gold Leaf awards.

The company won a silver award for Best Use of Laminating Film for its SUSTAIN 3D transfer film. It is the third such award the company has received in as many years.

SUSTAIN is a 100% recyclable board that is ideal for brand owners, packagers, and designers looking for plastic-free 3D transfer film.

Incorporating enhanced security features for added brand protection, SUSTAIN can save as much as 90% in production costs when compared to traditional methods. Moreover, brand owners and converters are excited by the board's strength and folding endurance, as well as its freedom from mineral oil. Furthermore, SUSTAIN minimizes the need to ship components from overseas, thus reducing transport costs and limiting carbon emissions.

The 3D element of the film is produced using Cellini™ digital sculpting technology, which is transferred to the board via a cold transfer. The sheet can then be overprinted with transparent inks to create a rich, textured finish.

“Consumers definitely want stylish but sustainable packaging made from eco-friendly materials and processes," explains Fresnels Innovations COO Dr Glenn Wood, "So we are delighted to launch SUSTAIN, which provides an eye-catching specialty finish that is environmentally friendly."
